Planning your trip information is below for your reference. Whether by air, highway, or coastal waters, you can get here from there. The Chamber of Commerce office is located at One Park Drive in Rockland, which is also the home of the Maine Lighthouse Museum. Park Drive is in the south end of Rockland at the intersection of Rt. 73 (towards Owls Head), Route 1 and Main St. The building is directly across from the Trade Winds Motor Inn. |

By Car/Bus/Taxi
Rockland is about four hours northeast of Boston and less than two hours from Portland.
From Boston, Mass., (189 miles): Take I-95 into the State of Maine. Follow I-95 north to I-295 (Exit 44), South Portland.
From Portland, (82 miles): Take I-295 North to Exit 28, which is U.S. Route 1 North (Coastal Route) at Brunswick. Follow U.S. Route 1 to Thomaston. Rockland is four miles farther on Coastal Route One.
Alternate route, from points south (Coastal U.S. Route 1 bypass): Many visitors use this route to bypass the heavy summer traffic on U.S. Route 1: Take I-95 to Exit 109 (Augusta) and follow Route 17 East into the City of Rockland. Downtown is to the right.
From Quebec, Canada: Take 73 South to 173 South. At the U.S. border, 173 South becomes 201 South. Exit 95 South, continue to the City of Augusta. In Augusta, take17 east to Rockland.

Mid-Coast Limo provides daily service from the Portland Jetport, bus and train stations.
Schooner Bay Limo & Taxi, Towing offers transportation with its vast fleet throughout the state of Maine. In the communities of Rockland and Owls Head, their area shuttle meets most of the incoming ferries from North Haven and Vinalhaven as well as US Airways Express flights. The shuttle service runs daily 8 a.m.5 p.m., July 1Labor Day weekend. The shuttle's first stop, after leaving the airport, is the Maine State Ferry Service terminal for all passengers trying to make connections with the next ferry. The shuttle will make stops at any location within Rockland and beyond, if the schedule allows. If needed, a transfer into a taxi can be arranged (yellow taxi vans can be found staged at the Ferry Service terminal when not in service). Their 14-passenger shuttle bus is available for reserved services after 6 p.m. daily.

By Plane
Major airlines fly into Portland and Bangor airports. Daily commercial air service is also available to Knox County Regional Airport, at Owls Head, just outside of Rockland. Air service to area islands is provided by Penobscot Island Air, located at the Knox County Regional Airport. Penobscot Island Air and Maine Atlantic Aviation provide airline charter service to and from many destinations in the United States and Canada, sightseeing flights, and many other services. There is limousine service from the Portland and Bangor airports, regular bus service from Boston's Logan Airport and the Portland Jetport, and taxi service is available at Knox County Regional Airport. All three airports have car rentals available.

From Boston: Take the Downeaster from North Station in Downtown Boston. The Downeaster terminates in Portland, Maine. Car rentals, bus service, and limousine services are available at the Portland train station.

Maine Eastern Railroad: Midcoast Excursion and Passenger Service Train to the Festivals and Foliage
There's a new way to travel to Maine's coastal attractionsthe Maine Eastern Railroad's Midcoast excursion service between Brunswick and Rockland. You can now travel along the scenic coastline avoiding the delays of Route 1 traffic, while enjoying the amenities of comfortable coaches and taking in the beauty of Maine's Midcoast from the picture windows.
Train stations and platforms are located in Brunswick, Bath, Wiscasset and Rockland.
