The Midcoast Maine Chamber Council has announced the winners of the 2008 MCCC Photo Contest. More than two dozen photographers entered close to 100 photographs into the contest. First, second, and third place winners were chosen in six categories: agriculture, boatbuilding, fairs and festivals, landscape, lighthouses, and performing arts.
First Place winners include David Clough (Agriculture), Lorain K. Francis (Boat Building), George Paton (Lighthouses and Landscapes), Marti Stone (Performing Arts) and Janis Gilley (Fairs).
First place photos will run in the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce's Maine Discovery Coast magazine, available at the chamber beginning in May. All winning photos are displayed below.
Entries were judged by Lynn Karlin, Peter Ralston, Neal Parent and Kate Izor. Criteria judges considered included creativity, lighting, relevancy to topic, and composition.
