The panel discussion includes Robert Bernheim of the Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine, Jamie McKown, College of the Atlantic faculty member in Government and Polity, and Edward Snyder of the Friends Committee on National Legislation, moderated by Raney Bench, Abbe Museum education curator. The Oregon Trail 2011 - Presentation at Owls Head Transportation Museum. Owls Head Transportation Museum, Rt. 73, Owls Head. Feb. 4th at 1:00 pm. Follow the pioneer journey of modern day brothers Nick and Rinker Buck as they travel the 2000 mile Oregon Trail in May 2011 with nothing but a wagon, camping gear, 3 mules and little else. Nick will tell the tale with a collection of photos from the epic East-West passage. What an adventure!

Linda Greenlaw Talk & Book Signing at Owls Head Transportation Museum. Owls Head Transportation Museum, Rt. 73, Owls Head. Sunday, Feb. 5th at 1:00 pm. America’s best known fisherman, and successful author, Maine’s Linda Greenlaw will be at the Owls Head Transportation Museum, Sunday, Feb. 5th at 1:00 pm.
Linda will speak on her most recent books “Seaworthy & “Maine Summers Cookbook” followed by a book signing. These books, plus an assortment of earlier titles, will be available for purchase and signing.
FREE Admission. Refreshments, compliments of co-host Rockland Yacht Club, available following the talk.

SERC Brown Bag Lunch Series – Global Warming. Schoodic Education & Research Center. Dr. Abe Miller-Rushing will discuss how climate change is affecting us right here where we live. He will talk about what is changing, what isn't changing, what is being done about it, and how you can help. West Bay Rotary's 5th annual event brings local restaurants and individual chefs into a fun and fierce competition for bragging rights to the best chili/chowder on the Mid-Coast. Curtis on Tour with Classical Guitar. Rockport Opera House, Rockport, ME. THe spring Curtis on Tour program is a celebration of classical guitar at the Curtis Institute. The concert will feature Curtis Director, Roberto Diaz, Jason Vieaux (a new faculty member), and two of the Institute's outstanding string players in a program of music for guitar and strings.
